How to send fax from Xerox multifunction device to FaxExtension?
Send fax from Xerox using the FaxExtension cover page
A reliable and easy way to send fax from Xerox multifunction device to a recipient at FaxExtension is to use a cover page with a QR code (machine-readable recipient information). This can quickly be done by following these steps:
- Create the cover page using 808sendfax.com online tool and enter the recipient’s extension number.
- Print the cover page.
- Send your fax to +1 808-SEND-FAX (+1 808-736-3329) while ensuring that the cover page you created in the previous steps is the first page of your fax.
This method only works for FaxExtension recipients with the main fax number +1 808-SEND-FAX (+1 808-736-3329). It may not work with other fax providers.
Faxing from Xerox devices with a handset
If your Xerox multifunction device or a fax machine has a handset, you can use this method to send a fax to a FaxExtension recipient:
- At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
- Load your original documents:
- Use the document glass for single pages or paper that cannot be fed using the automatic document feeder. Lift the document feeder, then place the original document face down in the upper-left corner of the document glass.
- For single or multiple pages, use the automatic document feeder. Remove any staples and paper clips from the pages. Insert the original documents face up in the document feeder, with the top of the page entering the feeder first. Adjust the paper guides so that they fit against the original documents.
- Touch Fax.
- Touch Enter Manually, then type the recipient’s main fax number +1 808-SEND-FAX (i.e., +1 808-736-3329) using the touch screen keypad, then touch Confirm (checkmark).
- To start the scan, touch Send. If you place documents in the automatic document feeder, scanning continues until the feeder is empty.
- After the number is dialed and you are prompted for the extension, you should dial the recipient’s extension number.
Faxing from Xerox devices without a handset
If your Xerox multifunction device doesn’t have a handset, you can use this method to send a fax to a FaxExtension recipient:
- At the printer control panel, press the Home button.
- Load your original documents:
- Use the document glass for single pages or paper that cannot be fed using the automatic document feeder. Lift the document feeder, then place the original document face down in the upper-left corner of the document glass.
- For single or multiple pages, use the automatic document feeder. Remove any staples and paper clips from the pages. Insert the original documents face up in the document feeder, with the top of the page entering the feeder first. Adjust the paper guides so that they fit against the original documents.
- Touch Fax.
- Touch Enter Manually.
- To send a fax to a recipient at FaxExtension, you must add pauses after the main number, followed by the recipient’s extension. So, type the recipient’s main fax number +1 808-SEND-FAX (i.e., +1 808-736-3329), followed by some pause symbols and the recipient’s extension number. To insert a pause, touch the -Dial Pause symbol. To enter longer pauses, touch the -Dial Pause symbol multiple times. We recommend adding between 3 to 5 seconds of pause after the main number. E.g., if the recipient’s FaxExtension extension is 1234, then you should type the number as follows: +18087363329-DialPause-DialPause-DialPause1234.
- After inserting this number, touch Confirm (checkmark).
- To start the scan, touch Send. If you place documents in the automatic document feeder, scanning continues until the feeder is empty.
You will need to add enough pauses to get to the prompt that asks for the extension. This depends on how quickly the connection to FaxExtension is established. After the connection is established, you can dial the connection instantly (you don’t need any additional pauses after the connection is established). Primarily, the time for establishing the connection to FaxExtension depends on overall phone system speed, your location, distance calling etc.
